Quote from BritKig: “If you ask me, the key of animegao as a form of cosplay is that it does away with the boundaries of real-life personal characteristics that other forms would be unfeasible. I've lost count of how many times I've referenced this video, but Nuko nails it: Quote: “...you can change, independently from your age or appearance or the gender of the character you want to disguise as. It's a special form of cosplay, a full body variety.”” I know this is an old thread at this point, b…

Quote from Miss Kiki: “I've never been able to get a good answer to this question myself. My web search turned up pictures of what we would call Animegao Kigurumi characters as far back as 1986. I have some shots of Kigurumi performers that were at the Tokyo Toy show in 1996, at Comic Market 57 in 1999. However, I can't tell if these were fans or just performers hired by the companies who made the Anime, acting as mascots. Wikipedia tells us that Sailor Moon live action Musicals began in 1993 Th…

Yes yes another tutorial post by me, I know. This'll probably the last one though before I do my personal progression post in a couple of weeks. Look forward to that! Anyways - I was wondering: For my first made-to-measure skinsuit, do I take my measurements with the padding and waist cincher on or without? Is it okay to take measurements without everything on since the skinsuit is flexible/tight enough to fit it all anyway? Or should I make the measurements precisely considering that I'll be we…

Quote from Intriguing Awoo: “How's 0 calories for intake? :P” Quote from BritKig: “I know you're just being sarcastic, but nonetheless, aimed at anyone who is contemplating it, eating nothing at all is bad for the body.” Under normal circumstances, just eating nothing is not something you can really pull off - You're right. However fasting is more complicated and requires quite a bit of knowledge beforehand, and even if you do it correctly it might not be for you. That said if you can pull it of…

Apparently I was just overthinking things again. I decided on doing 15 mins treadmill, 15 mins on the elliptical, and then as many sit-ups as I can - every day. The sit-ups should also help with burning belly fat, which is my biggest problem. In addition to that I started fasting, which will probably get me to my desired body shape in ~2 weeks. Currently on day 3 of 'no food, only water' and it's going pretty well. And no don't worry about me. I'm not starving myself. I've fasted before with gre…

Quote from cici: “lol~ yeah I'm zonked Anime North took a lot out of me..... ok wigs~ there are different ways to clean them, first are they attached to a mask? Is there fixative holding the hair style? Which maker, if there is one. made the mask and styled the hair? ” I'm talking in general here. I wouldn't want an answer specific to one type of mask anyway since there are a lot of threads in this forum that helped me, and if somebody else finds this thread and they don't have the same type of …

Quote from cici: “Old thread Check it out!! ” Uhm... That thread is only about zentai / hadatai, not wigs. I was talking specifically keeping the hair clean.

Title pretty much says it. I haven't seen a thread on this forum concerning washing wigs, only brushing and styling.

A 16 oz bottle of Ovacion or Woolite Delicate costs 45€ because it's just not sold here... Paging the community: What do you use to keep your zentai/hadatai clean and fight black hand syndrome?” That's a good question. I would search for a detergent that has been developed for lycra and or delicates. A good source may be a local dance store supplier or even contact a dance studio in you…

Is there really no good option for cleaning foam pads? Do you just have to take them out everytime to wash them?

I recently started hitting the gym to get into shape for kigging and I've been wondering; What I should focus on? Obviously losing weight in general is important, but If I want those nice feminine curves what areas should I work on and what exercises should I do? Any tips or experience? Also are there any important aspects you might not think about? E.g. how relevant are slim arms, and how much can shapewear really do for you?

Thank you! Now I have an idea of what I can do. I'll just have to do some manual smoothing on the pads using a pair of scissors beforehand.

Quote from Miss Kiki: “If I may draw upon other Hobbys as an inspiration. There are several methods of making sure the surface of a foam sculpture is smooth. While I have always wondered about soaking the foam pad in water then freezing the pad into a block of foam ice, then taking a rasp from auto body work, or a cheese grater to smooth the ridges into shape, I realize that this could be a messy business. Turning to the process of making a fursuit head, once the sculpture has been created, they…

What would you suggest using for smoothing the pads if you don't have access to a sanding machine? I can get pretty much everything else, but the last time I saw a belt sander was in engineering class

When ordering from Latexcatfish there are different options of latex finishes you can get: Dry, Silicone Outside, Silicone Inside and Outside, or Chlorination. If I use Vividress and clean it with Viviclean + Vivishine anyway, is there a reason to get something other than the "Dry" finish? And do you still need to apply silicone or powder?
