I don’t have anything to really show for the pokétech yet. I’m still trying to figure out what I have to do inside because I need to convert the signals. Not to mention writing the code for it to run the apps. (May be a bit of a challenge since I’m a mechanical engineer and not a software engineer. I’m glad the apps are simple.)

I think I know the one that you’re talking about. Someone did a cosplay version of it over on DA. deviantart.com/creamypumpkin/a…i-hairstyle-cos-498233259 Something that I realized was that I’m going to need to make a bigger hat. The one that I have doesn’t fit over my mask. The pokétech has run into a small problem with the screen having too many pins than the Arduino. I may have to make some kind of breadboard to get the signal to split into the right values for each pin.

A bit of an update on the wig. After the hair has completely covered my mask I figured that I would just cut it into bangs and I’m pretty pleased with the result. I used a picture of Dawn without her hat and her hair down as a reference and I think I got pretty close. imgur.com/a/ZubcCmx

imgur.com/a/LhinI1W Here are some pictures of the hip pads in use. Slightly NSFW because my kig is in her underwear but I don’t have any form fitting clothes for it. Sorry for the messy wig.

Greetings fellow kigurumi. Welcome to the forum.

The top layer is only shifted over so I could try to separate it with a heated spatula and fuse it in place but I’m not sure if that’s the best course of action. Anyway I’m almost done with my hips but they need to be shaped a little more since they’re a little large right now. I might try to make an “M pad” using the scraps that I have from making my breast forms but I have no idea where to start with that.

Yea. The printer glitched in the final hours. It took 27 hours for it to print only for that to happen. I might fill it in with some modeling clay or make another mask and repurpose this one for Halloween and be a broken doll. The pokétech is actually a part of a series I’m doing on deviantart that I’m calling Project Replon. Fully functional replicas for cosplay and everyday life is what I’m striving to create with what little engineering knowledge I have.

@Takami Oh. I didn't realize you were doing a Dawn kig. How far did you get? It's actually done for the most part but the wig and hips are the last things that I need to do. I've actually been trying to upload pictures but for some reason they're too large to upload and I don't want to post low res pictures from my 3DS camera. I'm also working on a poketech by using an ardruno an a touchscreen from an old DS sta.sh/01hqhagw7pul Me in the whole suit so far aminoapps.com/c/cosplay/page/b…ukorKqnL2…

I’ve taken the advice that you guys gave me and attached a strip of Velcro to the top of my mask. Now I just have to figure out how to attach the other piece to the wig. Might try sowing it in through the mesh. Having issues with submitting pictures now. Going to have to figure out how to make the file size smaller.

    Training?

    Buff55 - - Kigurumi and Cosplay Discussion

I've been tryng to get used to my kig by wearing it around the house and sometimes play some Wii in it but is there a better way to do this?

  • User Avatar

I'm not quite done yet with this project. The wig s giving me a few issues wit styling it into Dawn's hairstyle. managed to make the hair clips with a few hair clips, construction paper, and super glue but I may remake them with modeling clay.

I've moved back in with my family after a semester away and they don't know I'm a kigurumi performer. I want to tell them but I'm not sure how to approach it and I'm frankly worried that they may associate it with he furry community which they don't like very much.(No offence to anyone that may be reading this. Love you work.) The sooner I tell them the better so I can avoid an awkward situation where they see me suit up or find me wearing it around the house.

How to wash your RTPS hadatai

    Buff55 - - Tutorials

Is there a difference in the materials used between zetaitime and RTPS? I have to hand wash mine in cold water. I've also heard that a salt bath helps with something but I'm not sure what due to the tutorial being in Japanese...

I was washing my hada and noticed that there were black marks on the bottom of my feet and on my fingertips as well as a bit of fraying on the fingers. Is there an easy way to get rid of the spots and repair the fingers?

I don't know if I can consider my current mask a proof of concept but I'm able to swap out my eyes with tape. The wig isn't attached ether so I'm essentially able to make a few different pokemon characters due to the fact that they have the same facial structure. I've managed to pull off Dawn and Serena and soon Nurse Joy once I get the wig for it. The final version should use magnets to attach the eyebrows, eyes, ears? and different mouths but I don't have the resources, funds, or equipment to …

I was doing some maintenance on my mask and was wondering is they could be made to be modular. What I mean is what if you could swap out the eyebrows and eyes to make a different mask without having to make a new one granted that they have the same eye shape?

  • User Avatar

Well I found the rules. It honestly doesn’t sound too bad. Not to mention that I have a roommate that could keep an eye on me in case something does go wrong. 24-Hour Kig Challenge

  • User Avatar

I was just wondering what is the longest amount time that you guys have spent in kig? I'm trying to build up my endurance so I can take on the 24 hr challenge but I can only last about 30 min. before the humidity inside the mask gets to me.

I don’t know what the filament was that was used. The filament spool was unlabeled and super glue doesn’t stick to it very well. It isn’t reacting to acetone ether. Looks like I’ve got a mystery substance to deal with.

I don't have any supplies to fuse 3d prints together (Hence why my mask doesn't have ears at the moment). So my only option is to print the mask in one piece for now. The only thing that I may have to change is the eyes because 4 layers of mesh is a little much and the paint job that I did on the eyelashes and eyebrows. Maybe watercolor wasn't the best choice to use on crystalline silica based paint and I'm not an artist so free-handing it probably wasn't a good idea ether.
