Finally felt comfortable starting printing a mask. I just used one of the openkig models as I assume that they're known to work
Geez these things take a long time to print
Finished printing, filled and rough sanded
Printed the back and fastened all the moving parts in place. 3d printed latches and hinges seem to work pretty well right now. If they break in the future then I can just replace them with another 3d printed part
Here is a side view
The back opens like a ladybeetle as I suspect this will help reduce warping issues since there is more cpearence made available in the middle for it to change. The middle section will have an additional clasp to hold it together eventually
So I ended up using an epoxy filler instead which worked pretty well
Had some printer trouble when I was making it originally so I don't 5hink it's ever going to be as smooth as I would like
Anyway here is it painted
Oof it's been a while
Anyway turns out paint shows off all the tiny imperfections so I really should have just sanded it to begin with before I painted it
Here it is sanded properly and I have 3d printed eyelashes and eyebrows too
