I was just wondering what is the longest amount time that you guys have spent in kig? I'm trying to build up my endurance so I can take on the 24 hr challenge but I can only last about 30 min. before the humidity inside the mask gets to me.
The longest I have done to date, without a rest break is 6 hours, set back in March of 2018 at my first convention in-kig.
Depends someones health....i self did 12hours but everyone needs a break to breath(Or stay hydryte...or go to the toilet).
What worries me is the personal safety hazards associated with it.
Is the 24hr challenge a formality/tradition or just a developing (social media) trend?
How about dressing up for 3 days straight for at least 8 hours each day at an anime convention in a crowded area? I think that'll be more enduring than a single day 24 hour challenge.
What safety hazards are concerning to you? My kig mask still isn't finished so I really have no idea what hazards would need to be addressed.
For some, fatigue, short-of-breath, excessive body heat buildup... just to name three things. I think the risks are at the peak when asleep.
Also, I am not speaking about any mask in particular, more in principle.
On the whole, I think @Senkans idea of 3 days of 8 hours each would be more practical.
Well I found the rules. It honestly doesn’t sound too bad. Not to mention that I have a roommate that could keep an eye on me in case something does go wrong. 24-Hour Kig Challenge
@Buff55 my longest time in kig was 6h in a convention with the mask on my head
I guess the biggest problem is not being able to drink if the mouth is closed.
If there is a hole big enough to stick a straw through, things would be much better already.
Heat buildup depends very much on the mask I would think.
14 hours but who's counting.
I did in kig for 3 hours. I never try it for long than 3 hours.
